Buckley says consumer products have not become so dangerous that Canada must give up Charter protections. He argues section 8 and the Hunter warrant standard should apply once an inspector believes an offence has occurred.

Buckley says an inspector can seize stock for a paperwork breach and then charge the owner administratively, with no review of whether the order made sense. Senators raise warrant rules and disclosure of confidential business information.

Barb Bayne from Red Deer, Alberta, grew up in a family restaurant surrounded by sugar and desserts, never questioning its impact. By the time she had her own children, her household carried on the same North American diet heavy on sweets and light on vegetables. That changed in the early 1980s when her three-year-old daughter began struggling with hyperactivity—unable to sit still, prone to emotional outbursts, and restless even at bedtime. A doctor’s article linking sugar and artificial food coloring to children’s behavior caught Barb’s attention and changed her family’s trajectory. In this interview, Barb recounts the Sunday when she realized sugar was at the root of her daughter’s struggles, recalling how church and Sunday school snacks of cookies and sugary drinks would leave her unsettled for hours. Instead of accepting medication, Barb sought nutrition-based answers. She discovered vitamin B could counteract sugar’s depletion effects, and through Amway connected with a doctor teaching nutrition courses. She began supplementing with vitamin B before parties or sugar-heavy events, noticing calmer behavior and improved emotional regulation. Over time, she cut out “the whites”—white flour, white sugar, white rice, white pasta—replacing them with whole foods, homemade bread, and quality nutritional supplements. Her daughter’s health improved, and the whole family grew more aware of nutrition. Barb reflects that despite 40 years of warnings, society has only increased its sugar consumption, leaving children vulnerable and many medicated for hyperactivity. Her message to Ottawa is clear: protect access to natural health products and promote education so parents have options beyond pharmaceuticals. Buckley says inspectors given power to seize for “compliance” will use that power exactly as written. Future regulations will not bind the courts or shrink the statute.

Homeopathy treats the person, not a disease label. In Episode 2 of the NHPPA Homeopathic Network series, NHPPA President Shawn Buckley is joined by Elizabeth Chapman of Canadians for Homeopathy, practising homeopath and clinical herbalist Victor Cirone, and retired medical doctor Stephen Malthouse.
Stephen practised conventional medicine for more than four decades and integrated homeopathy for about twenty five of those years. His verdict is blunt: once you see what homeopathy can do, you cannot go back. The panel explains why outcomes can be so fast in acute cases, why suppressing symptoms can drive illness deeper, and how homeopathy sits in a different medical tradition than the model used by Health Canada.
The discussion also covers viewer questions, combination remedies, working with children and animals, and a clear call to action on Bill C-224.

Buckley prefers the Hazardous Products Act model: an immediate order that a court can still review. He cites the EMPowerplus case, where Health Canada kept blocking a product after being warned of suicides.

Buckley explains that telling an inspector to leave private property should end the visit. Asked about drop-side cribs, he says Canada can protect babies without abandoning court supervision.
